Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This match offered a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
