The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Dies in an LA Vehicle Accident

The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The celebrated game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
