Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, however can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
