Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
American actor Finn, who appeared in beloved television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
