Fresh Details Emerge Concerning the Location of the Reiner Couple's Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking deaths of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence home on Sunday.
The Discovery
As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
Upon entering the home, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Proceedings
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Clarifications
The confidential informant questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.
Furthermore pushed back against circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
